over the weekend, i made grilled pizza, something i always wanted to try...
& it turned out so good!! the crust was perfectly crunchy & it was so easy to make!
i can't wait to make this again soon, while it's still nice enough weather to grill outside.
how to make grilled pizza...
use homemade or store bought pizza dough. (this time i used pillsbury pizza crust dough, but next time i will make it homemade...) roll out dough to the desired pizza size. brush one side with olive oil & carefully place that side down on the grill, using your hands. allow that side to cook on medium heat for 5 minutes (give or take). be sure to keep an eye on it. carefully flip when ready. then add your sauce, cheese & other toppings to the already grilled side & let it cook the rest of the way, with the grill covered.
the sauce was made from a can of italian diced tomatoes & a can of tomato sauce, with extra garlic, basil & oregano to taste. the topping we used were sliced fresh mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, & fresh spinach. yumm!
