hiking in pagosa springs...

While in Pagosa Springs, we were able to go on a little hike up to a small waterfall called, Treasure Falls!
It was a short hike, but there were lots of pretty things to see... Some of the leaves were just starting to change!
And there is nothing like the fresh smell of pine in the air! I love being in the mountains!!
The falls were not flowing very strong, since its fall... But it was still so beautiful!
Us at the base of the falls! :)

mulled cider for the first day of fall...

Happy First Day of Fall!!
I am celebrating with a hot cup of mulled apple cider that I made in the crock pot this morning.
It has been going all day long, with the yummy spices & it is making the house smell so good!
I also made some baked apple chips & a new pumpkin recipe that I will share soon...
One of my favorite things about fall is all the yummy food!
I used this recipe for the "crock pot apple cider".
Cheers!!

mornings in pagosa springs...

Every morning that we were in Pagosa Springs, my sister & I woke up early to walk around the lake & take in the beauty all around us! I have become more of a morning person, because there is something so special about this time of day... especially in early fall & in such a stunning setting!!

There was so much to soak in & to photograph...
Glimpses of fall. Cold, crisp air. Morning mist on the lake. Dew drops on plants. Golden beams of sun. Mountain back drops. Geese flying overhead. Everything was just magical!!
And of course, after our walks, I would come inside, sit in the window seat & enjoy a hot cup of tea!
Oh... it was a perfect weekend!! :)

{still more photos to come...}

snapshots of my weekend in pagosa springs...

Over the weekend, I went on a mini-vacation with my mom, sister & grandma to Pagosa Springs, Colorado!!
We are so blessed to have friends from church that allowed us to use their timeshare for a very affordable price!
It was a beautiful place right on a pretty little lake & there were so many fun things to do!

Every morning, my sister & I woke up early to go on a walk around the lake & to watch the sunrise.
The air was cold, but it felt so good to be outside in such a beautiful place.
The timeshare we stayed in had a kitchen, living room, two bedrooms, two bathrooms & a deck.
There was even a window seat looking out on the lake!
We had so much great food over the weekend... For breakfast we had Rhodes Cinnamon Rolls, which you buy frozen from the grocery store... they are easy & so good!! Also, we had sausage & kale soup for dinner! This is one of my favorite soups!! (click here for the recipe) It was so nice to have a place to stay that had a full kitchen!
They had a huge pool & hot tub! We went twice & had the whole pool to ourselves! Amazing!
We also went to check out the Pagosa Hot Springs, which has several naturally hot mineral pools, ranging in temperatures.
I don't have any good photos of that, because we went at night, but it was a fun & interesting experience!

The resort had lots of other little things to do like a s'mores social, mini-golf, & tennis! Lots of fun!!

There is a really great place in Pagosa Springs called "The Choke Cherry Tree". They sell amazing homemade caramels,
which is what we went there to buy... but we ended up getting so much more! I will probably share more about them soon!

We also went hiking & saw so many beautiful sights over the weekend!
I have many more photos to share, that I took with my DSLR, so I will share those soon...
It was such a beautiful weekend that God blessed us with! I am so thankful!!
:)
