new & improved chocolate chip cookies!

today i made caramel & dark chocolate chip cookies with sea salt sprinkled on top. i have been wanting to try a recipe like this lately... the salty&sweet combo is so yummy! :) & they turned out perfect!

{recipe first seen here}

here is my modified version:

2 sticks softened butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/2 tablespoons pure vanilla
1/4 cup Smuckers caramel sauce
3 3/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
12 oz bag dark chocolate chips

preheat oven to 350 degrees F. in a stand or electric mixer, beat the butter and sugars until well combined. beat in the eggs and vanilla, and swirl in the caramel sauce until well combined.

place the flour, salt and baking soda into a large bowl and mix. slowly add to wet ingredients then add the dark chocolate chips.

place a large spoon full of the cookie dough on a greased cookie sheet. press down slightly, then sprinkle with a pinch or two of sea salt. bake for approx. 10 minutes or until just golden around edges. remove and let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.

there is nothing like warm, homemade chocolate chip cookies & these are better than ever!
