my weekend & lots of TtV photos!!

on friday, i got my kodak duaflex vintage camera in the mail, just in time to have fun with it all weekend! i was so excited. also, i went to my grandparent's house with my mom & sister for a delicious dinner! & we played boggle, so fun!

on saturday, i played tennis with my family. shopped for flowers to plant. & went to see letters to juliet with my mom, my sister, & our friend angela. it was a really sweet & funny movie. all of the scenes of italy were amazing... as i watched, i just thought about all of the beautiful photos i could take in a place like that... oh, i loved it!

on sunday, at church, i had to substitute teach for the high school sunday school class, it was interesting... but very fun!!! in the afternoon, my sister & i helped my mom do a ton of yard work! by the end of the day, i was exhausted. but the perfect ending to the perfect weekend was hot coals & roasted marshmallows! :)

shadows.

these photos are for the photography challenge on Michelle Elisabeth's blog: thymely thoughts. the focus is on shadows... i might try to take more shots before the May 17th deadline, but i do really love these ones! if you love photography head over to her blog, to see what what the challenge is all about... it's much more fun to look for all of the pretty little details in our world, instead of just speeding by everything! :)

the film shots from my birthday weekend didn't really turn out... it was a *disposable camera* that my sister needed for school and than gave to me when she was done. it was maybe the second time i have ever used a disposable camera... probably the last. :) but oh well, still fun. here are some of the shots that turned out okay...

Full House, my favorite tv show of all time!! (i cried during the series finale... i think i was 12 years old then... haha!) anyway, i got season 5 on dvd for my birthday, & me and my sister watched it all weekend! :)

mother's day was a wonderful day for my family! we went to church, played tennis (forgot the sunscreen, so I got a sunburn...sad), had a BBQ, & ate yummy turtle cheesecake! & of course played games! it was such a fun day, that i didn't even get around to taking any pictures, so i guess i don't have too much to share... BUT i do want to say that i am just so thankful & blessed for my family... my mom, my grandmas, & my aunts have been such special blessings to me. they have taught me so much & they have filled my whole life with joy! i feel like God has given me such a special gift!

TtV photography.

at the beginning of the year, i bought a calendar with TtV: "through the veiwfinder" photography in it, by alicia bock! i loved the look of these photos so much, but i figured they were taken with fancy cameras & film... haha! well it turns out TtV is just taking a photograph with one camera, usually digital, of the image displayed on the viewing lens of another camera, usually a vintage twin lens top-view camera. no film is required. so, i looked around on ebay & found a kodak duaflex III vintage camera for only $12.99. yay!!! so... i bought it & now i can not wait to get it in the mail & get started with this fun new project... just in time for summer!! i just love the style of these photos! it is the perfect way to get that authentic vintage charm in a photo, but using a digital camera! plus, i love the square format! :)
